Bryant-Rothwell House

LIBERTY

Built in 1857 by Jesse Bryant, a lumber merchant from Kentucky who served as mayor of Liberty during the Civil War. Purchased by William Wymore in 1869. From 1899 to 1904 the house was owned by William Jewell College and used for “the benefit of the Missouri Baptist Ministerial Education Society for renting”. More recently the house was used as apartments before going into foreclosure and abandoneed for the past decade.
